United Capital Acquires Virginia Advisory Firm

United Capital Financial Advisers, which describes itself as a financial life management firm, has acquired Virginia-based HFI Wealth Management, with offices in Shepherdstown and Winchester, VA. The move is United Capital’s first foray into West Virginia, adding $332 million in assets and 380 client households. HFI Wealth Management was founded in 2002 by chief executive and primary principal Rob Hoxton, who will become a managing director at United Capital along with his colleague Julia Connell and eight other staff members. Today, United Capital has around $15 billion in assets under management and 82 offices across the US.
